Jigawa State is unquestionably on a path of long-lasting revolutionary progress, according to Governor Umar Namadi, who also highlighted notable achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment as important pillars of his administration’s “Greater Jigawa” project.
In a nationwide broadcast commemorating the 34th anniversary of Jigawa State’s founding, the governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to promoting progress in all areas, with a focus on agriculture, where historic achievements had been made.
His words: “Our Agricultural Transformation Agenda is beginning to unlock the vast agricultural potential that has long remained underutilized.
“Just yesterday, I signed a law establishing the Jigawa Agricultural Transformation Agency, which will lead efforts to modernize the state’s agricultural sector.”
Governor Namadi also issued an Executive Order establishing a new Ministry for Livestock Development, further emphasizing the importance of livestock expansion.
The new ministry, according to Governor Namadi, is a crucial component of the Agricultural Transformation Agenda and will guarantee that the cattle industry gets the targeted attention it needs.
In terms of infrastructure, he emphasized that in the two years of his government, 45 new road projects totaling more than 800 kilometers had been started, while 26 inherited road projects totaling more than 300 kilometers had been completed.
“The progress we’ve made in improving critical infrastructure is unmatched,” he stated.
The governor also highlighted significant investments in youth empowerment, stating that more than 300,000 people, mostly women and young people, have benefited from the more than 60 employment and empowerment programs that have been implemented.
He added, “We remain committed to delivering on our promises. Our efforts prioritize inclusive, people-centered economic growth and development.”
Governor Namadi noted the continued difficulties, especially in the areas of education, industrialization, and youth development, while rejoicing in these achievements.
“Though we have made considerable progress, issues such as the high number of out-of-school children and the underutilization of our young population demand fresh strategies and sustained dedication,” he remarked.
He described the 12-Point Agenda as a “partnership between the Government and the People” and reaffirmed his commitment to it, which was launched at the beginning of his term.
He underlined the importance of patriotism and group responsibility.
“Everyone is a vital stakeholder in the progress of Jigawa State.
“We must all acknowledge that each of us has a part to play in building a greater Jigawa,” he submitted.
