In Jigawa State’s Babura local government region, around 995 rice farms have been devastated by flooding.
The local government chairman, Suleiman Daudu Babura confirmed the occurrence in a statement published to ZINGTIE on Wednesday.
Kwagga, Martini, Fadibara, Kuzunzumi, 4 Jikan Kanwa / Fln, Dangaigai, Dankarda, Karfawa Kanawa, and Burukum Gari Wato are among the impacted communities, he said. Burukum Fln, Shashatu, Bata, S/baka, and Kurtulla.
Abdurahman Maikano, a member of one of the impacted settlements, voiced worry that the occurrence would result in local food shortages and revenue loss.
To lessen the difficulty they would experience, he urged the state government and pertinent organizations to assist them.
According to one of the victims, Suraja Muhammad, these difficulties arise virtually annually.
In order to help avoid and lessen the likelihood of such calamities happening again, he urged the government to enlist the assistance of experts.
Malam Hamisu Muhammad Garu, another council chairman, expressed sympathy for the victim and reassured the state government that it will help them.
